Yanal Altidoka

Seasoned product leader with a diverse background across different functions and industries. Combining my business and engineering background I have been able to navigate through areas of Sales, Product Management, Finance, Consulting, and Software Engineering. Most recently, I am a Sr. Product Manager within the Amazon Actionable Video Advertising team leading our actionable video products through OTT.

How will coaching shape the future of product over the next 5-10 years?

Raise the bar on product managers and allow for many new individuals to enter the PM space

What are some of the most effective frameworks you've used when coaching leaders in your area?

Understanding the Why, What, and How of the Problem. Working backwards from the customer. Identifying the potential impact of a problem and breaking down the problem into sizeable chunks that can be prioritized.

What's your best advice for product managers looking to increase their impact?

Work backwards from the customer and understand the major pain points a user is facing. Quantify these pain points and prioritize by opportunity size. Brainstorm solutions for the top pain points with the right stakeholders and prioritize. Identify risks with all solutions and look for ways to mitigate. Ruthlessly breakdown solution features to smallest possible deliverables and start to test your progress. Iterate over solutions as you start to get feedback from your releases.

Anything we should know about you as a thought leader in the area of product:

I've worked across industries and functions, but have always worn a product hat. I had the opportunity to work on large scale products at Amazon, which requires the understanding of scale and collaboration with many teams all while moving fast to release. I want to continue to grow in this space in order to become a top PM in the space.
