I'm a Product Manager coach. I help product leaders & PMs build better products. And I help PMs grow their careers. 🚀

How will coaching shape the future of product over the next 5-10 years?

I believe that product managers will need to become more strategic over the next 5-10 years. Machine learning advancements will transform how decisions about products and business are made, but product managers will need to be able to use this information to inform their decision-making processes. This will require PMs to be more strategic in understanding the "why" behind building products AND being able to evangelize the "why" to their teams. The skills required by PMs in the next 5-10 years will not necessarily change, but being strategic, understanding data, and communicating effectively will become even more important. Coaching can help PMs transition through this period of transformation.

What are some of the most effective frameworks you've used when coaching leaders in your area?

I prefer the GROW framework for coaching. G = Goals (what do you want to achieve?) R = Reality (what's your current reality/baseline?) O = Obstacles and Opportunities W = Way forward (create a career roadmap)

What's your best advice for product managers looking to increase their impact?

Build trust up and down the org, learn to influence, and leave your ego at the door.
