The Head of Content role is a unique opportunity to shape the future of professional development. You’ll lead a team of experts, writers, producers, and designers to create highly impactful content programs, harnessing the most effective formats and tools to amplify the support provided by coaches to Scale's members.

At Scale, we are re-inventing the way that people learn and grow at work — by helping them discover, connect, and interact with the actionable guidance and expert coaches they need to succeed.

Our mission is to provide success as service. We help people be more successful at work by mastering strategy, productivity, influence, creativity, and leadership. Our development platform connects people with best-in-class ideas paired with 1:1 coaching from experienced operator-coaches. Today we work with professionals in the technology industry, and will eventually expand across all areas of work where people need more 1:1 help to succeed.

About The Role

The relationship between a person and their coach can be magical. Figuring out how to scale that type of relationship to more people is no easy task. The Head of Content role is a unique opportunity to solve this challenge by shaping how Scale works with top experts and coaches to build the most complete library of content programs designed to help people succeed in high demand environments.

This role is a unique opportunity to create the future of professional development with impactful and engaging content programs. You’ll shape how we develop the best possible formats, tools, and structures to serve our members, and you’ll build the team of producers, designers, and writers that work with experts and coaches to amplify their ideas.

We're looking for a team player who has experience managing content development and production with top-tier experts, ideally in the professional development / self-improvement domain or in the audio/podcasting space. We're pioneering a new interaction model to help unlock coaching at scale, so we'll need your unique perspective and creativity in helping us to develop the most effective programs that translate knowledge from leading experts into interactive, multi-media mobile experiences.

You are an authority in understanding trends and insights from our audience and measuring impact of all content, social, creators, and search. You're highly strategic and will help shape the voice of our company, product, and executives through the development of our programs.

As Head of Content you'll be:

  1. Developing the content roadmap for tentpole professional development experts and topics, as well as steps to scale our programs. You are experienced with developing new content concepts, creating a content development and production calendar, managing creator relations, and overseeing production. You're able to establish a clear strategy around a unique content vision and can translate that vision into pragmatic innovative plans. You also have some experience creating easily accessible and digestible bespoke content, particularly in the realm of business leadership and management or audio/podcast production.
  2. Identifying what works through experimentation -  You aren't always right, but you are always willing to try and try again. You are in-the-know on the latest and greatest ways in which content formats are being developed and innovated upon. You are on the pulse of the cultural zeitgeist and bring strong instincts around how content can engage an audience and make an impact.
  3. Proposing ideas for how we can develop tools to support program development and ways we can continuously improve our content experiences by becoming an expert on our target audience and drive insights on industry and audience trends globally.
  4. Managing and taking action on metrics - You are fluent in setting and managing key metrics of success for content and programming. Metrics are magical to you because they help you identify where areas of opportunity are and what to double down on. You're adept at measuring impact across channels and optimize channels/content based on results.
  5. Establishing best-in-class content operations and infrastructure by creating the standards and processes for all aspects of our program and content development including style guides, technical specs, and any other documentation to bring efficiency to the content process.
  6. Managing quality and efficiency of producing multimedia content to consistently help us perform best-in-class for business management and leadership.

About You

  • You've worked in a startup environment before and love the autonomy and problem-solving that's required on a daily basis
  • You’re an expert at content development & production and passionate about creating best-in-class, innovative content
  • You have experience overseeing and driving impact across multiple digital channels, with experience creating compelling content in different formats
  • You are an exceptional writer and have communications skills, as well as stellar insights and analytical skills
  • You love collaborating cross-functionally and working directly across disciplines, from community to product
  • You have a growth mindset and you’re eager to rapidly develop your skills and increase your responsibilities
